Floating shelves over feature wallpaper

The client had chosen a bold wallpaper and wanted shelving that appeared to float, with no visible brackets, while still holding dishware and small appliances.

The work we performed

• Skim-coated and prepared the wall for a seam-critical wallpaper install
• Hung the patterned wallpaper with matched pattern repeat at the corner
• Installed concealed steel rod brackets into located studs
• Built and finished solid shelves in a matte black finish
• Added an outlet and trimmed the nook to match the kitchen

The outcome

A three-day project that changed how the whole kitchen reads — proof that not every improvement needs to be a remodel.
