If nobody in the house takes baths, yes. You reclaim floor space, the room reads larger, and a curbless or low-curb entry with grab bars is far safer for aging in place. We keep at least one tub in the home when resale is a concern.
How long is a bathroom out of service?
A vanity and fixture refresh is a few days. A full tile shower remodel is usually two to three weeks, since waterproofing and mortar need cure time before tile and grout.
Do you handle the plumbing and electrical yourself?
